Brimarc was originally established as a partnership in 1972 retailing from a tool shop in Chard Street, Axminster. Brimarc's operation of the company expanded during the 70’s and 80’s into national shows and mail order. Brimarc's acquisition of two further premises allowed for the expansion of warehousing and the diversification of the retail outlet.

During the 90’s Brimarc warehousing and mail order business moved to its current premises on Millwey Industrial Estate, Axminster. As the Brimarc mail order business grew throughout the 90’s the company soon realised that further warehousing space would be needed and developed a second purpose built warehouse. Brimarc Developed it's range of famous mens trouser braces ti fill a gap in the market that was emphasise by the now famous Tommy's braces worn by Tommy walsh on BBC's Ground Force.
